Memories are important. Some memories define us while other memories provide us with happy thoughts. Preserving those memories is as simple as creating a scrapbook. If you aren’t the creative type, scrapbooking software will help you get the job done without too much effort. Then again, most scrapbooking programs do offer an array of options if you want to fiddle around a bit.

At the time of this writing, a good scrapbooking program could be purchased for less than $50. Things to look for when shopping for scrapbooking software include a list of features, user-friendliness, and software that you can easily adapt to.

Digital Scrapbook Artist -- $30+

Digital Scrapbook Artist was devised for users of all levels. If you’ve been scrapbooking for years, this program is for you. This program is also for you if you’ve never picked up a piece of actual scrapbook paper. With a drag-and-drop interface, Digital Scrapbook Artist is as simple as simple gets. In addition, this program comes with a ton of great features. From the start, you’ll know exactly how to use this program, and you’ll never be lost without a frame of reference. For $30+, you can’t go wrong with Digital Scrapbook Artist.

Memory Mixer -- $35+

When it comes to creating memories, a simplistic interface is key. Most people don’t want to mess around too much with preferences and other minute details before actually creating a scrapbook page. That’s where Memory Mixer shines. This program is easy to adapt to, and you can quickly add images, merge images and create any design you want to.

With its cut and paste interface, Memory Mixer is a quick scrapbook fix. The only drawback to this program is that you can’t import photos from any external storage. However, you can import photos to your computer (or other device), and then upload these photos to Memory Mixer. With this in mind, Memory Mixer is an excellent scrapbooking tool for under $40.

Hallmark Scrapbook Studio -- $25+

Hallmark has been synonymous with crafts and scrapbooking for some time now. Thus, it’s no surprise that the Hallmark Scrapbook Suite is an ideal tool for new crafters of all ages. This program also happens to be very inexpensive, which is always a bonus.

Some people may find Hallmark Scrapbook Studio slightly harder to use than other programs, but this learning curve can be easily climbed. Once conquered, Hallmark Scrapbook Studio is capable of creating some very nice layouts. Aside from the fact that this program does have a slight learning curve, Hallmark Scrapbook Studio is a top-notch program for a very low price.

FotoFusion -- $30+

The one thing that sets FotoFusion apart from other scrapbooking programs is the ability to import photos from outside sources. Add this fact to an array of features and a great overall design scheme, and you have a program that’s ideal for any type of user. For those who have a knack for drawing, FotoFusion also allows you to freehand a number of scrapbook layouts. Of course, if you don’t want to try your luck at freehand, you can simply choose a unique template. You can’t go wrong with this program.
