San-Francisco-based gaming company, Razer, has just designed one of the most innovative new gaming laptops. The Razer Blade is unique due to its original design. Combined with what's inside of the Blade, this gaming laptop is sure to please gamers from all walks of life.

Design Takes the Cake

Even though the name 'Razer Blade' is less than original (wasn't there a cellphone with this same name years ago?), the design of this laptop is something that hasn't been seen before. The Razer Blade looks a lot like a MacBook, but this laptop comes with a black case that differentiates it from Apple's top seller.

In fact, the Blade resembles Apple's MacBook design in almost every way, but it does so in a sophisticated manner. It's almost better than the MacBook, and Apple might want to take a few design tips from Razer. Razer didn't skimp when it comes to the inside of this laptop either.

Inside the Razer Blade

This 14-inch laptop includes an Intel Core i7 processor; Nvidia GeForce GTX 765 graphics; and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. The Blade also has one of the best in-class SSDs created by Samsung and 70 watt-hour battery. When all is said and done, this gaming laptop is packed with everything you could want in a gaming laptop - and possibly more.

The really great thing about the Blade is that it's not a bulky laptop by any means. It's a laptop that's really light and quite easy to carry around. This makes the Blade better than most other gaming options available. Since gaming laptops and computers tend to be the bulky kind, the Blade is bound to sell quickly. So, how about that price?

Pricing and Availability

Razer is selling the new Blade gaming laptop for $1800 (starting). That might seem like a high price to pay for a laptop, but you have to consider what's inside of this hunk of steel. The only really bad drawback (and it's kind of an important one) to the Blade is the display.

Display Woes

You might think that a laptop with so much going for it would come with an amazing display - after all, this is a gaming laptop, so displays are kind of important. Razer has made this display really bright. This was done intentionally, so that you can take your laptop outside on a sunny day without any issues. Sadly, a bright display means distortion where color and definition is concerned, and that's not a good thing.

Your games and videos won't look great on the Blade. Yeah, I know, that's kind of against the point of a gaming laptop. Unfortunately, it's the direction that Razer decided to go in. Still, this is one of the best designed gaming laptops on the market, it comes packed with great components, and it's light enough to carry around wherever you go.

If you can overlook display issues, the Razer Blade is worth that $1800. If an overly bright display is not for you, the Blade won't be worth your time.
