A new 15-inch MacBook Pro was released by Apple recently. If you have an older version of a MacBook Pro, there are a few updates worth checking out.

If you’re in the market for a MacBook Pro, the recent changes that Apple has made are likely to be very appealing, and may put Apple’s MacBook Pros at the top of your list when comparison shopping.

Take a look at what Apple has added to new MacBook Pro.

New Trackpad

Apple’s newest trackpad is called the Force Touch, and it reacts to the amount of pressure that you place on the pad. If you were to press hard on the pad, for example, the response would be different were you to press lightly on the same pad. Apple’s hope is that the Force Touch will be more responsive to certain pressures once a user gets used to how the trackpad works. The current trackpad that MacBook Pros come with is less responsive, and does require a bit more getting used to than the new Force Touch (so Apple says).

Since a trackpad is one aspect of a laptop that is worth putting a lot of research into, if you are in the market for a new laptop it’s not a bad idea to consider the Force Touch - it may make your life easier if you use your laptop a lot and don’t want to mess with the current Apple MacBook Pro trackpad option (which can be a bit temperamental).

Other New Updates

Apple has also added a new flash storage memory to the MacBook Pro. This memory is two times as fast as previous versions, Apple representatives state. Additionally, the new MacBook Pro battery lasts for nine hours, which is a lot longer than current MacBook Pro battery options.

If graphics are what you’re after, the new MacBook Pro comes with an AMD Radeon R9 M370X chip that will increase graphics by nearly 80%. All of these upgrades result in a laptop that’s simply faster and better where graphics are concerned, and comes with a slightly longer battery life in addition to a trackpad that’s more responsive - not at all bad when it comes to new and improved changes.

Pricing and Options

The new MacBook Pro comes in two different options. The first is a $1999 option that is equipped with a 2.2GHz Core i7 Quad-Core Intel processor, 256GB of storage, and 16GB of memory. You’ll also get Intel’s Iris Pro Graphics with this version of the MacBook Pro. If all of that is not enough for you, there’s another option to consider.

The $2499 version comes with the AMD graphics chip mentioned above, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel i7 CPU. Those are the two 15-inch options that Apple has just launched. There is a third option that measures 27-inches, and comes with a Retina 5K display, but you’ll have to shell out $1999 for that version. All three of these new MacBook Pro options are currently available through the Apple website or in stores where Apple computers are sold.
